For those who like the very best, we
have devised the king and queen of feedback systems.
Gleaning the principles of
eBay's tried and true system, evolved over time, and molded after serving the
needs of hundreds of millions of users, we blended that into the attributes
of some of the best systems in the construction industry today. The end
result is the HandyBids feedback system.
Once
you understand how it works, you will be glad to
participate. Positive feedback is encouraged, earned reputations are highly
valued, and meticulously maintained by those who build them.
Let's go into some of the major parameters, and delve into
what makes this system so different, and uniquely the best.
Consumer safety is our first concern.
Professionals are concerned about their
reputations. They are protected by using anonymous feedback user names, making their feedback private except for
those from within the Handy Bids community. On the other hand the option exists
for a service pro with stellar feedback ratings, to use their
HBRated.com feedback page as an advertising tool, providing the link to
their new prospective customers.
Even though our system is based on positive feedback, it still allows a negative
record to be developed. So we are here to build not destroy, yet weed
out the very few. It serves the needs of our consumers and service providers alike.

The
result of the positive reinforcement is that pride is drawn in a glowing
feedback score, and that drives the provider, and consumer to move forward
with ever increasing stellar performances. Realizing that they have an
honorable record to protect, raises them at times to near heroic performance levels.

Provide a workable platform that will
encourage stellar feedback results.
By utilizing a primary feedback
component that forces the rater to make a choice between an overall
performance rating of a positive, neutral, or negative, encourages the
rater to not knit pick every little trifle, and decide that someone who did
an overall very good job, deserves a positive overall feedback rating. We do
however have a detailed feedback system, with a separate rating model,
that allows for a more thorough explanation of the overall experience.

Protect the consumer.
We believe that people are basically good. It is possible that
someone can slip through the cracks, providing us with 3 positive
references, and have a clean record, then proceed to do less than a stellar
job. Negative feedback ratings will weed out those few. The comments
provided are designed to clarify the nature of the problem.

Protect the service providers hard earned
reputation
A single disgruntled consumer, who may or
may not have fairly judged the provider. All feedback postings are published
but we do not publish feedback scores
for the general public. They are only available to those who participate in
the HandyBids community, by requesting bids. We also enable the service
provider to leave a reply to any ratings and comments that are made, and
finally the consumer is able to leave a final reply. In the spirit of
the customer is always right, our feedback records only include positive
feedback for consumers. Consumers
benefit from positive feedback because service providers appreciate a
consumer that is a joy to work for, and often adjust their bidding
appropriately. Knowing that the service provider has the ability to place a
positive feedback, creates an incentive for both parties to try and work out their
differences, instead of placing a permanent negative remark on some ones
record. Consumers who have positive feedback are competed over by service
providers. Consumers who do not have any feedback, either have not found any
of their service providers who feel they deserve a positive, or the consumer
has not had any work done. So acquiring positives is like money in the bank
for any future work a consumer may wish to have done.

New Members
In order to launch
our service providers feedback ratings, we allow the 3 references they
provide to go on their profile page. We contact those references to make sure that
they are professional references, and not just personal references. We want
to make sure that work was actually done
by the provider for them. If someone is willing to testify on behalf of a
provider of their integrity, and work quality, we are willing to accept that
into their permanent feedback record.

Main Feedback Score
As was
mentioned above, we have a main feedback score, that enables our members to
shine. With this type of system, the consumer has to decide if overall, the pro did
a positive job, a neutral, or negative one. Left with such a choice, and
from someone who deserves praise, a positive one is the overwhelming choice.
Then that score along with the "detailed feedback ratings"
provides a complete and accurate picture.

A Complete Profile Web Page with Positive Feedback is a Great Advertising Tool
Our pros have the
advantage of being able to use their professional
PROfile-Web page
as a reference. (If you don't already have a web site, please see our Join
Page to get more information on how we can build an inexpensive one for
you.) That is a handy tool to have, especially for those you are
trying to win bids from, either inside or outside of the HandyBids
community. HandyBids PROfile web page addresses are not listed in a
directory, but each pro knows their own profile page address. Using domain
forwarding, they may even have their own inexpensive dot com address point

How Do We
Calculate Your Main Feedback Score?
Your main feedback score is based on the number of positives
that you receive as compared to any negatives. If someone leaves you a neutral, it is a neutral so it
does not go against your score, nor does it add to it. So if you had 11
positives, and one neutral, you would have a feedback score of 11, and a
positive feedback score of 100%. If on the other hand, you receive a
total of 12 feedbacks, and 11 of them are positives, and one negative, your
feedback score would be 11 - 1 = 10, since negatives are deducted from your
positive score, and your positive feedback percentage score would be 92%.
The easy way to look at this is based on 100 feedbacks. If you receive 99
positives, and one negative, your positive feedback score would be 99%.

Detailed
Feedback Ratings
In addition to your main
feedback score, we also have detailed feedback ratings for our service
providers. The
detailed feedback ratings do not affect a professionals main feedback
score, they have their own rating system based on 5 stars. It's almost
like a feedback system within a feedback system. Detailed feedback ratings
do not appear on a
sellers profile page, but are only
accessible, and sent to those who are requesting bids. The detailed
feedback ratings enable a consumer to qualify a sellers performance along
certain parameters, including Communications,
Quality, Value,
Professionalism, and Dependability.
Individual detailed ratings are not listed, but are averaged, and the
overall results only are posted. Only after 10 feedbacks have been submitted
are detailed service providers ratings published. All detailed feedback
ratings expire after one year. Main Feedback Scores are part of the sellers,
and consumers permanent record. Consumers have feedback scores including
positives with comments, but do not have
detailed ratings.

Weeding out
the Very Few.
We are here to build, not destroy. We enable our service
providers to improve their beginning feedback, by allowing the 3 references
they provide for their company profile, to leave feedback, since they
already did work for them. We provide materials to assist in helping them
improve their presentation, and estimating skills with resources.
On the other hand, a
feedback system serves the needs of the consumer, and service providers
alike, by alerting them to those who are doing a less than stellar job. If
someone's feedback score goes from the beginning, with references included
+3 down to a 0 rating means that they received a total of 3 more negatives,
than they received positives. We have a responsibility to protect our
consumers as much as is possible from an advertising venue, therefore anyone
who has a 0 feedback score, after starting with a plus 3, would have their
Handy Bids membership revoked, and their feedback ratings, and web site
would be discontinued.

Feedback is a Powerful Component in
Determining Which Service Providers Gets Priority in Receiving Bid
Requests.
Some may be saying, someone with a 50% feedback rating, getting as many
negatives as they do positives is someone who they would not be looking to
hire, so why don't we place the pole a little higher? We realize that
complete feedback ratings are sent to every consumer requesting bids. So
they see the negatives, the positives, as well as the comments. So someone
with a spotty feedback record is given a chance to succeed even though they
may have had a problem with a single customer for example.
The consumer can easily decide if any neutrals or negatives appear to be a
real problem.
Top performers are given priority in the HandyBids bid flow
selections. Our bid
flow, choosing whom we send the bids to is based on many factors, and one of
them is the service providers overall feedback score, and positive feedback
percentage. The whole system is based on fairness, and equity for all, with
an emphasis on the cream rising to the top. It's an ever evolving structure,
that anyone can start new, and grow to be a top performer. We do not edit

You Can Create an Anonymous User Name for
Your Feedback, or Use Your Actual Name, or Company Name
Anonymous user names have a lot of advantages. A company
with a distinguished reputation in the community, can participate in
HandyBids without the risk of tarnishing their hard earned reputation. When you use an anonymous feedback user name, the only
time people
actually see individuals, or company names are when bids are being
requested. Your
PROfile page has company or individuals names listed, but they
are not provided as links to the general public, and do not contain
feedback scores. Good companies are not
afraid of the challenge of satisfying customers, in the baseball game of
life, they often want to be the first one to step up to the plate.

Feedback User
IDs Do Not Contain Contact Information
We provide a feedback forum to be used from within the
HandyBids community. User IDs that contain email, or dot com addresses,
phone numbers, or other personally identifiable contact information are not
allowed, so as to protect the users of this site from those who would
circumvent our structure, and standardized procedures. On the other hand, a
profile page with a stellar feedback rating is always available by the
seller
to include in their advertising, with a link to their specific page. That is
a great benefit to your, one on one communication, with those who you are
hoping, to win contracts from, outside of the HandyBids community. So your
HandyBids profile can become a great asset as a published reference that you
can use, and or print out as a brochure to take along with you.

Complete Feedback Profile Pages
Includes Comments
In addition to leaving an overall positive, neutral, or negative, you
can leave a one sentence comment. That can be followed up by a one
sentence reply by the one receiving the feedback, and finally a closing
comment by the one who initiated the feedback. That way anyone can
defend their position. Let's say the rare consumer wants a service
provider to do something illegal, like tap into a water, gas, or
electrical source to bypass the meter, and the contractor refuses to do
it. Then the consumer wants to blast the service provider with a
negative. Having a reply at your disposal can open up the
communications, and let others better understand the nature of the
problem.

Feedbacks Can Be
Withdrawn but Not Edited
A feedback is part of someone's permanent record, but in the
event that 2 people are having a problem, and the service provider receives
a negative, then they rectified the problem to the others satisfaction, they
can put in a request to withdraw the feedback, as long as it is mutually
agreed by both parties, but editing or revising feedback is not allowed.

Feedback Reporting is Done by Email,
or by Posting on Our Feedback Page
At the time the bid requests are placed, a HandyBids feedback request
form is
sent by email to the consumer
requesting the bids. You simply click on reply, fill in the blanks, and
then click send. Thanks to the advanced Microsoft Office System 2007 integration, our feedback
requests, are sent by our in house servers, and once received are
automatically converted
back into our database records. That way complete feedback
records reside on our in house servers. We post them on separate pages using
the optional anonymous feedback user name, because we are interested in protecting the privacy of our members, while providing
helpful feedback scores to those participating in the HandyBids community.

General Contractors Who Also Use
Our
Quote Request Service
General contractors who use our site as a consumer, to request quotes,
as a means to acquire service pro's or assistant pro's for jobs they are
already doing. Consequently, they acquire a feedback rating as a
consumer. If the General Contractor is also a HandyBids Service Pro
Member, they have a separate feedback as a service pro. They are two
entirely different feedback scores. Only service pro scores go to
consumers, and only consumers scores go to service pros.
