Working Side By Side With Experian

CompuSave’s HandyBids.com is under contract as an affiliate with Experian one of the nation’s leading credit bureaus, to help bring you the most comprehensive resources for pre-screening contractors.
In addition to our background check with the council of better business bureaus as well as national databases reporting on a contractors performance, we personally get involved in checking references. On top of that we offer the Experian Contractor Check as a means for you to independently check on a contractors licensing, bonding, bankruptcies, liens, judgments, and credit review. These are items that we as a community would have difficulty managing all of the legal requirements of being able to report on others. Our official stance is that we do not screen people. We help you to do that for yourself. A smudge on someone’s record could be offensive to some, and a nomenclature to others.
We think that decision is best left to you. So we Pre-Qualify on our end, and if you wish to go deeper, we provide Experian's Contractor Check
 as a handy screening tool. For a small fee, a consumer can do a more complete background check.

Pre-Qualified for Reliability
We have found that our own intensive pre-qualification results in a high proportion of reliable contractors that become members of the HandyBids community. Much time was spent on this subject, and our research has concluded that due to the reliability of the data from third party sources, we could not in a clear conscience tell people that this person is clear. Those in the service provider referral business that do make such claims have terms of use agreements that declare they are not responsible for their findings. We prefer a more honest approach.  When we tell our Handy Bids consumers that someone is pre-qualified, that means we have checked them to see that they are truly a professional, have real references, and are not sitting on multiple complaints that are unresolved with the better business bureau.

These professional references are vouching for their integrity, and reliability before they become a Handy Bids Pro. They also launch their feedback ratings, and then they build on that, hopefully building a long list of happy customers.
